JUST LEAVE YOUR FOOTPRINTS

Our coasts give us amazing sunsets, perfect waves, treasured moments with friends, nice and relaxing mornings; moreover, they are habitat for many plants and animals that offer us health, food and more. But, sadly, our own trash is generating a huge impact on them.

In September, we celebrate the world clean up day, so adhering to the national initiative “Limpiemos Nuestra Finca” the Asociacion de Desarrollo Integral de Mal Pais-Santa Teresa, Voluntariado Ambiental y Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeeper are joining the celebration with a beach clean up on September 15th , our Independence Day.

Surely, in these past few days you went out to the beach and found more than one piece of trash lying on the beach. Did you pick it up? Why don’t you do it next time? From now on, if you see trash on our beautiful coasts, please pick it up, throw it out in the garbage, or recycle it. Maybe that piece of trash is not yours, but it does not belong on the beach either and, neither the sand nor the water have hands to throw it away, but you do! You can do something, become a guardian of the water and protect the coasts of where you live or vacation.

Let’s celebrate this 15th of September with a beach cleanup, all together showing respect and love for our country. See you Saturday 15th of September 9 am in Playa Carmen.
